saturday nite with John Jones feat. Tara McDonald @ Segarra Ancol, Jakarta August 15th, 2009
John Jones (UK) John came to link up with Hed Kandi in late 2000 because of his ability to read and rock a dancefloor. He is one of the team’s longest serving DJs and has had the pleasure of touring as a worldwide resident to cities such as New York, Sydney, Rio, San Francisco, Bogotá (Columbia), Miami, Ibiza and Barcelona to name a few.
Versatile and intensely creative in his style, and with a vibrant personality, he projects these characteristics into his sets and onto the crowd. He revels in the opportunity to play his music to people who are eager to hear “As a DJ there is nothing better than playing to a really up-for-it crowd” he says.
The strive to impress and connect with the crowd when he plays has established John as one of the most respected headline Hed Kandi DJs.
On the production front, he is one half of “Beaver & Jones” who have released tracks on Hed Kandi & Peppermint Jam. He is also part of “The Collective” alongside Martin Ikin & Steve Norman. He has also individually produced remixes for Roger Sanchez “Stealth” Imprint working on Miguel Picasso’s “Don’t Stop” Tara McDonald (UK) You may not know the name but you will most definitely be familiar with the voice. Tara McDonald is the vocal talent behind some of the biggest club anthems in the world. Co writing with the cream of the global house fraternity, her songs have been massive club and chart smash hits. She is without a doubt one of Hed Kandi’s most adored singers and performers as she has collaborated on a number of tracks with the label and performed at numerous events all over the globe. Her recent project with Hed Kandi’s Warren Clarke is ‘Love Crazy’, whilst another huge track for Hed Kandi featuring Tara was ‘Forgiveness’. The amount of Hed Kandi albums that feature this songstress is also endless.
Tara has co written two songs with the house DJ/producer David Guetta, as well as working on The Todd Terry Allstars project released through the Strictly Rhythm label in 2006 that brought together some of the biggest names in dance music for the debut single “Get Down” featuring Kenny Dope, Terri Hunter, DJ Sneak and of course Tara McDonald too.
Currently Tara is focusing on her studio work and is also busy touring the world, including some very exciting performances at Hed Kandi’s Ibiza season 2009 at Space.
